Our story

Food that tastes like home

Mr Kitchen Company Limited is a Ghanaian-owned food manufacturing and agro-processing company established in 2017.

The journey

From a home kitchen to a food business

  1. 1

    Where Mr Kitchen began

Mr Kitchen did not begin with a factory, a large product portfolio or a fully developed business structure. It began with a personal relationship with food, cooking and the desire to enjoy food that tasted like home.

  2. 2

    From research to an idea

While studying Agricultural Economics at the University for Development Studies, the founder researched the determinants of fast-food consumption in Ghana. The insight: many consumers still valued traditional Ghanaian food, but were looking for food solutions that could fit within changing lifestyles.

  3. 3

    From an idea to experimentation

Mr Kitchen began developing and testing food products using agricultural ingredients that are familiar within Ghanaian cooking: vegetables, palm nuts, fruits, herbs, spices, legumes and other locally relevant ingredients.

  4. 4

    From experimentation to product development

The company has developed more than 78 products across its wider product-development journey. The current commercial portfolio focuses on selected products that have been developed, tested and positioned for market growth.

  5. 5

    From products to a business

Mr Kitchen's farm-to-food approach connects farmers and agricultural suppliers to food processing and ultimately to consumers through sourcing, processing and multi-channel distribution.

The question that started it all

“How can traditional Ghanaian food remain authentic while becoming more convenient for modern consumers?”

That question became the foundation of Mr Kitchen.

Quality and food safety

Quality is central to what we do

Mr Kitchen recognises food safety and quality as essential components of food manufacturing, and continues to strengthen its systems as it grows.

Cold chain. Frozen products require continuous temperature control. Our operations include blast freezing, cold storage and controlled transportation and delivery.

Batch traceability. Our quality system provides for traceability from agricultural sourcing through production to finished products.

Registration. Selected products have been registered with the Food and Drugs Authority for the Ghanaian market. Registration details are shown on each product page where available.

Our future

From Ghana to Africa and beyond

Our immediate priority is to strengthen our position in Ghana. Over time, we intend to take Ghanaian food innovation into wider African and international markets.
